Amazing but true.
The downtown schools (District 20) planning committee for the Charleston County School District has scheduled its community input meeting for Sunday, February 2nd. You can't make this stuff up.
What's that you say? Perhaps something is scheduled for that day that just might keep most of the community at home.
I wonder what that could be.

Maybe if they scheduled it at Moe's Crosstown ...
Great idea, Clisby. Leave it to the people who know and live downtown to make something good out of a bad situation. On this Sunday afternoon meeting, we could share appropriate libations and take regular time-outs to watch the Super Bowl commercials as we plot the future of downtown's public schools. Can't possibly end up with anything worse than what the superintendent has since 2004. Who knows, a public meeting at Moe's may result in something that makes sense and has public support. Charleston always seems to work better on good food and adult beverages. - Henry Copeland
As a member of this Downtown Community Task Force, I raised a question about the wisdom of scheduling a community meeting on Super Bowl Sunday. Don't know who at 75 Calhoun did this, but I still haven't received an answer to my question which was submitted yesterday. The Community Task Force is mostly made up of district employees, so I guess they are waiting to be told what to say. - Henry Copeland
And the minimum number to constitute a quorum is....? As for the "wisdom?" C'mon on, man! You're kidding, right? The only thing dumber than this is playing the Super Bowl outdoors in NYC...in February.
Yes, I'm kidding, only I don't think the all-knowing, all-seeing CCSD powers-that-be are.
