CCSD School Board Election Choices
I'm on the road today, so I'll save my thoughts on the final list of candidates for another posting. Meanwhile, it would be great to hear some of yours.

Go Marvin!
The election commission still has to verify the petitions. If they give the all clear in a couple of weeks, then I will also say...Go Marvin! I really think the winds of change are starting to blow.
Now if we could just get some new blood and added support on all eight constituent boards. Half the 56 seats on 8 boards are open for candidates to sign up. A candidate can just nominate themselves, but they should at least have some roots and support in the communities they want to represent. If the county board is going to make some positive changes they will need active community leaders on those boards, too. District 20 is just one board. Imagine if all eight boards took a stand for their neighborhood schools. That would be hard for McGinley and the county board to ignore. It might just give the quiet ones the encouragement they need.
Well, it looks like your favorite writer for the Charleston rag is doing a hatchet job on the charter school folks. That's how at least one person describes the report that appeared on the P&C on-line edition mid-day Sunday. The school board race may have fewer people involved this time, but it may produce as much heat as ever. Not surprising, the newspaper is weighing in for no change, too.
