Why does the Charleston County School District spend so much money on consultants when its administration is stuffed with specialists and layers of supervisors?
Easy. So they can provide cover by telling administration what it already knows but is fearful of saying. Thus the tens of thousands handed over to a consultant "diversity" group from Clemson.
Still, Postlewait can't manage to acknowledge what she really knows. In a recent op-ed, she carefully explained the present thinking about CCSD schools: "Regardless of your vantage point, it is undeniable that the Charleston County School District has some of the state’s very best schools and some of the state’s lowest performing schools literally a few miles apart."
Clearly she edited her thoughts (and ours): "some of the state's very best schools and some of the state's VERY WORST" is what she meant but couldn't bring herself to state.
This dichotomy is an "issue," not a "problem." Our schools don't have any of the latter.
Now that the first group of consultants has been paid, a second group, Reos Partners, gets its share of the pie by "facilitating" "bringing diverse viewpoints to actionable plans."
No one at the Taj Mahal can do this, it seems, despite its high salaries.
We pay through the nose for hundreds of qualified personnel in administration. Then we pay again for educational consultants to tell them what to do.
Sounds about right to you? Then support the incumbents in the election.
