As of Monday afternoon, the P & C online edition reports that college professor Robert Russell has dropped out of the District 20 school board race. That leaves Marvin Stewart to face Toya Hampton-Green.
Was there ever an easier choice to make?

Now, now...Ms. Green has stated publicly as recently as Thursday evening she has a child in public school and is in favor of charter schools."
I think we still need to be afraid...very afraid...
I'll bet she even has a "Go Public" bumper sticker on her $50,000 car.
How can she claim to be in favor of charter schools when she voted against James Island?
Very funny because I'm sure it's true about the bumper sticker.
Oh but she did vote for one motion to renew the James Island charter -the motion that added an illegal condition, which would have given the school board a chance to revoke the charter every year - instead of every ten years per the SC Charter Act of 1996.
Another great example of her support "for" charter schools is what she tried to do "for" the Charleston Charter School for Math & Science - like $320,000 in annual rent.
With friends like Toya, who needs enemies?
Toya, Ruth and Hillery voted against the property purchase for JICHS last Monday so it is time Toya drops her phony, "I am for charter schools" bit
The public needs to know just how much of a "team player" she is at the expense of the public. Her distain for constituent service is well known. We need to know more specific examples of what she has done to "support the administration" while screwing our schools.
We all know based on their records that Marvin is a steward of the constituents of Charleston and Green has admittedly proved not to be. The choice could not be clearer.
I remember Ms. Green telling Fraser parents to "trust her" when Dr. Goodloe wanted Mishawna Moore to serve as the Principal for 2 schools. I agree with the poster above, "with friends like Toya, who needs enemies?"
